Update & Day 1

I have fallen off the wagon far more than I have remained on, but that changes today.  I've always needed to lose this weight, in fact my doctor tells me this EVERY TIME I see him!  My life has been turned upside down with my Father's recent stage 4 cancer diagnosis.  I could say that I've just been concentrating on that, but that would just be an excuse.  I know Dad would want me to take care of myself, well after caring of the grandkids, of course ;).  Mom is here this week as well, visiting from Colorado, but she'll eat whatever I'm eating, so that can't be an excuse either.  She wants some eastern barbeque, so I'm gonna research that for sugar content & I'll let you know.

I've been thinking about making brownies using Jorge's recipe.  Have you made these?  I've heard some say they were too sweet, but I don't think that would be an issue for me.

Have a great BFC day!

  1. Hey Girl!! Welcome back! We missed you! I am so sorry to hear about your dad. What kind of cancer does he have? Prayers going up for you and your family. Its so hard to even think about food or making good choices when faced with something of that magnitude, so please dont beat yourself up over it. Its ok...forgive yourself & move on. The wagon is here to pick you up so hop on my friend!!
There is so much support here in our little blogging community so check in daily. I find that I look forward to seeing what everyone is doing and what they have to say. So much wisdom and great advice. It keeps me motivated to keep going. If you really want some great motivation, go to Rosalies & Ambers blogs and look at all of their pictures they have posted as they were losing weight. My goodness, they are amazing transformations for sure!!!! When I feel like Im spinning in neutral, I look ath their pics and I realize that with hard work and perseverence, I will get there too! I am kind of doing a combo of the Weight Watchers plan and counting S/Cs to keep my carbs & sugars in check. Im not 20 anymore so I dont metabolize foods like I used to and it is working for me. Down 19# since Dec and a total of 24# since last March. I am a slow & steady kind of gal and thats ok with me as long as I continue to see the numbers going down.

Take care of yourself and please stay in touch and let us know how things are going.
    Hugs to you!!

  3. Cat, so glad to see you back. I know how hard it is when things are out of balance and life just seems to spin out of control. I pray for your family. About the browines I love them but they will cause some stomach upset due to the mylitol...I am sure I did not spell that right.

  5. Hi Cat, I just found your blog thru Amber's. I know that you are following mine, and you already know that I have lost 81 lbs so far by doing the BFC. I just wanted to say that I know its hard sometimes, but if you reach way down inside yourself - You can do this. My dad just died a couple months ago and I was very lucky and fortunate that he did get to see me skinny. He was so happy and proud of me.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you reach your goal.
    Have a great day!! :-)
