Healthy Day at the state fair?

Rockin' it out with the kids ;)

This pic looks very Vanna White"ish".  Roasted corn...yummmm.

Krispy Kreme doughnut burgers and funnel cakes...maybe a clue as to why we are fat.

Everyone eats lunch, but me.  Couldn't find any reasonable healthy food nearby.

Julia & Daddy on the Flying Bobs

Julia was afraid she'd get on a scary ride and just "freak out"!

Before starting this healthy journey I would have NEVER posted pictures of myself.  Trust me.  Just check out facebook.  Sometimes these non scale victories sneak up on me, but always feel great!

My lunch/dinner, chicken on a stick with fried rice

fried oreos

funnel cake, I think it was a hit.

250 pound watermelon

522 pound pumpkin

Interview with Julia after riding The Flying Bobs (her 1st grown up amusement park ride).

I consider this day a success.  I didn't consume the funnel cake or fried oreos.  Yea! Not even a taste.  I didn't want to mess up my dairy free, gluten free experiment.  Of course there could have been some hidden somewhere...just didn't want to knowingly consume any.

I think a fun day was had by all.

Do you try to eat healthy at the fair or throw caution to the wind and eat lots of treats?

Have a healthy Wednesday.

Take care,

A Pumpkin"y" Good Time & so much more than weight loss

This weekend we had a pumpkin"y" good time.  Saturday we road the Pumpkin Express, shot pumpkins with a slingshot, painted pumpkins, had pumpkins painted on us, and so much more.

Before losing weight I would take the kids places and watch them have fun.  Well on Saturday I had fun too.  I road a pumpkin train.  I used a slingshot to shoot pumpkins at various targets & yes I scored.  Even won a popcorn ball and a toy lizard. Ha.  I bungee jumped and was brave enough to do a BACK FLIP.  Now I'm not saying it was the best back flip ever, but hey I did it!  I've only lost 23 pounds so far, but I can definitely say I'm not the same person I was 8 weeks ago when I became serious about changing my life.

Today I ended the day in a very pumpkin way as well....with the help of Goodberry's.  Honestly one of the best desserts I've ever had...pumpkin frozen custard, caramel, pecans.  Now I absolutely love pumpkin ANYTHING & this was to die for! Really. It was that good.  I know most of my subscribers are on a low sugar plan, but if you have a friend that's not just go with them and have a couple of bites.  While it was soooooo delicious, my body reacted horribly to it.  It is clear my body is screaming out, NO DAIRY, PLEASE!  I won't go into any details, just trust me on this one.  Another ingredient my body is not too keen about is gluten.  While my body is not screaming out about it like dairy, I don't think it's good for me to say the least.  So starting tomorrow I'm doing a little gluten free/ dairy free experiment to see how much better I'll feel without them in my life.

Now that I've had a super caloric dessert, I'm hoping my workout today helped counteract some of those calories.  I usually try to end strong right before a weigh in....I did right up to the Goodberry's treat.  I'll get right back on track.

I will stick to my plan this week.  I have to.  There is no try.
See ya after weigh in.  I think I'm gonna start tracking body fat percentage as well, even though all I have is my scale.  At least I'd like to see a downward trend.
    Have a healthy Monday.

      My Day in Pictures

Mom bought me.  Don't like it as well as the plain I fix myself, but it was good especially with a spoonful of peanut butter.

Then we hit the beach and one of the pools!

I think I'm gonna have to order one of these, poolside. ;)

      Picnic lunch

      my plate

Alouette on chips...was a little too good.

      Me & my babies

Dinner:  roast beef, mushrooms, turnip greens, garden salad.
For dinner we walked to a nearby cafeteria.  I was proud of myself for sticking with protein and green veggies, especially after passing by the biscuits, rolls, cornbread & desserts.  I haven't eaten any late night snacks either.   Yea!

In the morning before breakfast I'm going to the gym on site.  I have to wait an hour to eat after I take my morning meds, so I thought it would be the perfect time to get out and de-stress.

I've had a good time here, but Mom's irritated me too.  I guess that's true with most Moms.

That being said, I just had a  nice long talk with Mom.  She means well and pointed out some great suggestions for decisions I need to make in the not too distant future.

I'll leave you with a quote that has brought me peace in the recent weeks:  Psalm 94:19  "When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul."

Thanks for the support.  Have a great Friday!

      Not me week

I didn't follow this plan "mostly" & expect a weight loss this week, no not me.  I didn't wonder if this plans for me, giving myself permission to eat, brownies & a Reese's peanut butter cup, no not me.  And since my weigh-in day is Monday, I didn't stick to the plan religiously on Sunday thinking I would have a loss after only 1 day, no not me.  (BTW, I'm really proud of that day because it was my nephew's 1st birthday & I turned down the birthday cake, woo-hoo!)  Oh yeah, & I didn't eat an unlimited amount of wheat thins while I was folding laundry, not me ;).

All kidding aside, I gained a pound from the previous week.  When will I get that I can't do the plan 1 day a week & expect a loss.  I do actually think I get it now, but only time will tell.  Right now it's about 9 a.m.  I'm giving my word that I'll report before I go to bed of my food diary.  It will be "belly good."  Then I'll do the same tomorrow & the day after, and the day after, etc.

These were some of my belly good meals in the last week:

On Thursday since my oldest was out of school due to Veteran's Day, my mom came for a visit & we went to The Museum of Life & Science.  The kids were so excited to see Grandma & we had a great time.

A few pics from my nephew's 1st birthday:

      Happy BFC'n everyone!

      Thanks for stoppin' by.
