A Glimpse Into Part of What Changed My Life a Few Months Ago

Candace Cameron Bure - Dominican Republic from Compassion International on Vimeo.

Day 3 of my 14 Day Health Challenge went well, I obtained my goals with no cravings for unhealthy food.  Yea, but I have something else on my heart to talk about tonight, part of the key to what changed my life a few months ago, the heart of this lady, Candace Cameron Bure.  The video above is a glimpse into her heart and passion, which runs all through the weight loss book to the left as well.  I would LOVE to one day hear her speak and meet her.  She really truly changed my life.

I've adopted much of her eating philosophy and I'll let you in on a little secret......It's not that hard.  Nothing has to be cut out of your life forever.  She eats this way and maintains a trim healthy body and you can too!  It does however require faith, perseverance, and discipline, all needed in any successful endeavor, don't you think.

A few days ago I heard about an online magazine community she started called roomag.com.  I've just started to browse the site, and it looks amazing!  Check it out as it looks like an amazing resource for women in all areas of life.

I know most of my readers have heard me say most of this before, but the video above moved me to tears and I just had to share!

Tell me:

How does your faith impact your health and weight loss decisions?

Have a wonderful, healthy Sunday.

Take care,

  1. Thank you so much for sharing this book AND video! Immediately I recognized Candace from Full House, but was so surprised to hear the beautiful words she had to say about the Gospel and living for Christ. Wow. Wow. Wow.

Her eating philosophy is VERY similar to the one I've incorporated too. Nothing is cut out forever and as long as you have discipline, you're able to manage a healthy weight with things in moderation. I think Candace has become one of my new favorite celebrities.

  2. I appreciate you being true to yourself and seeking for truth. As a Christian I strive for that as well. I believe we can pray for strength and receive it. I believe I was 'led' to meet the women I've met via blogging. You've all been that help I prayed for. I have often felt God's love through the service of others.

  3. That was a nice video Cat. I have been to the Dominican Republic, but I feel a little guilty saying it was at a nice resort, to lay in the sun and relax. The people there are so nice, but as you drive from the airport to the resort, you can see the poverty. It made me feel guilty that I had so much and they had so little. I don't really know much about Candace, but thanks for introducing her to us. Hugs to you from me.

  4. She "gets it", doesn't she?
I couldn't make it through a single day without the strength God gives me! For me, willpower is exactly what I need LESS of...MY will is strong enough. It's HIS will I need more of. Yes, discipline is key...the discipline I find through the Holy Spirit.

And I think I first heard of Candace's book from you...so Thank You!! Her way of eating was confirmation for me. I just love it when God does that for me. :)
