Adversity is my teacher, 40 Day Challenge Day 3

I was at Dad's store again today working.  SOooooo much to do!  I met with the real estate broker and attorney, and have homework from them and even more to do!  Gotta do it though, as Dad would say.  Sometimes during all of the decision making I find myself asking, "what would Norfleet do?"  He was such an amazing father and businessman.  I really do miss him.

As far as nutrition I practiced moderation in a non-perfect world:
Breakfast:  Balance Bar (honey peanut)
Lunch:  small cheeseburger from Hardee's and unsweetened tea (with Sun Crystals)
Dinner:  garden salad & Schiano's pizza topped with ground beef, spinach, and mushrooms (2 slices).  I've had this crazy craving for beef lately.  Pizza definitely did not sit well with me.  Ashleigh said, "Mom whenever you eat dairy your tummy gets all weird."  Hummm, I definitely would agree.  I definitely have noticed issues with milk and cheese, but not whey protein or butter...
~plus lots of H2O~

No formal workout today, but was on my feet most of the day.

Probably no workout tomorrow, headed to Warrenton again.  Can't wait to work out on Friday!!!!

On a positive note, my clothes I wore today were really too big.  Non scale victories rock!

"Even the most daring and accomplished people have undergone tremendous difficulty. In fact, the more successful they became, the more they attributed their success to the lessons learned during their most difficult times. Adversity is our teacher. When we view adversity as a guide towards greater inner growth, we will then learn to accept the wisdom our soul came into this life to learn." - Barbara Rose
Love this quote!  Adversity is teaching me patience, fortitude, acceptance of purpose, love, kindness, work ethic and so much more.  It's my mentor.

What have you learned from adversity?  Did it contribute to your success?

Have a great Thursday.

Take care,

    1. Nice quote! I have to admit, it is hard for me to accept adversity as my teacher, even though it is what really shapes us. Something definitely for me to work on. Your eating didn't look so bad to me.
